Campaign Initiatives
MASUM has been on the forefront of the Right to Health Campaign at the state and national levels. We coordinated the process leading to the evolution of The Indian Women's Health Charter (now also translated into Hindi, Marathi and Tamil).
MASUM has been active in Maharashtra in campaigns related to right to education, right to food and right to housing.
MASUM initiated the annual five-day Lokshahi Utsav (Democracy Festival) in Pune city in 2003, which has now become a joint activity of 40 organisations. Some other cities also occasionally celebrate this festival (26th January to 30th January).
MASUM initiated campaigns against corporal punishment and sexual harassment in schools in Pune.
MASUM has been an active supporter of organisations working for sex-workers' rights in Maharashtra.
